Our project, entitled ‘’NextGShield - Proactive AI Resilience in NextG Open Wireless’’, was funded by the Australia-Vietnam Strategic Technologies Centre (AVSTC).
The project tackles a key challenge in next-generation wireless networks: the instability of AI/ML models under dynamic environments and adversarial conditions. To address this, it develops NextGShield, a lightweight and resilient framework that combines robust model design, adversarial training, adaptive learning, and real-time anomaly detection. By incorporating statistical methods to detect distribution shifts and enabling efficient on-the-fly adaptation, the framework improves model reliability without requiring full retraining. Experimental results in realistic wireless settings demonstrate enhanced robustness and adaptability, contributing to more secure and trustworthy AI-driven systems for future 6G and Open RAN networks.
